About

Samantha Hi, it's Samantha. I started this website to post drawings using a Wacom tablet purchased for my 23rd birthday. Once I save up for my own scanner, more posts will possibly appear. That's because I tend to doodle on random scraps of paper.

I like to draw curlys and swirls, probably because I like curly hair. Faces are also of interest to me. I learned how to draw from my college professor, Nathan Opp, but I have explored art since I was a kid.

One of my favorite childhood drawing subjects were mermaids. It was terribly nice of those sea creatures to sit patiently and wait for me to draw each one. Of course, when they saw their portraits they would get upset and throw seaweed at me. Since life has a way of letting people repeat mistakes, I've set out on another mermaid-driven art and story adventure.

Devotion to a certain kitten occupies my time when I'm not glued to my computer. Smeeshy was born April 1, 2009, and I am the fool who adopted her. Smeeshy is a word I created to say when something is desperately cute; you can't say anything but nonsense in response to seeing it. So now I have this word to communicate a feeling of seeing the most darling thing. In return for my care, she thanks me with her claws and teeth.
